Tales from the Shift World are short stories set in the Shift World multiverse. I've set up a robust mythos in Shift World but given the pace I can write novels I thought it would be a waste to only release a Shift World story once every year or two. Plus if I only write books, I couldn't write a story set outside the worlds of Shift World I for a decade.
I call these tales semi-canonical because compared to a novel, I can't spend as much time proofing and correcting a short story that I need to write, edit, and post in a weekend. That means that these shorts will be considered canonical unless I accidentally write something that a novel contradicts. If that happens I'll try to fix the short story to be accurate, if not, though, the novel will be canonical over the short.
